In this context, I am writing about one of my trekking experiences of Uttarakhand at the Brahmatal Trek.
Overview of Brahmatal Trek
Starting from Kathgodam, Brahmatal Trek is counted among the few winter treks in the Himalayas. The most exciting and at the same time special about this whole trek is the experience of two glacial lakes i.e Brahmatal Lake and Bekaltal Lake. Where the former is named after the Hindu God Brahma who meditated here.
This enchanting trek takes one at an altitude of 22,000 feet. One the way one can definitely get to explore the hidden jewels of this place. The trek route cuts through the sprawling forests of Oak, Fir, and beautiful Rhododendron and much rare flora and fauna of this region. The base camp of this trek is Lohajung.
Apart from all these things one can also witness numerous other peaks including Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Hathi-Ghoda peaks, and many more.
The ideal time to indulge in this trek is in January and February as the trek is designated as the winter trek but summer months are also a good option as during this period one can catch the sight of red, pink, and white Rhododendrons.

My journey and experiences to the Brahmatal Peak
As it is a winter trek, I planned my tour towards the Brahmatal during December last year. Here is the journey and some of my memories from this famous trek.
As per the schedule, my journey started from Kathgodam, and after arriving there I started my journey of 225 km towards my base camp at the Lohajung. While reaching Lohajung I tested myself in a guest house for that night.
On the next day after having breakfast, I started with my journey towards the Bekaltal.
Along the way, I came to witness the panoramic views of Nanga Ghunti Peak.
The trek route of mine was through the forests of Oak and Firs.
While reaching Bekaltal I was welcomed by the clear waters of Bekaltal Lake and refreshed myself. Then after enjoying the delicious dinner I ended the second day of my trek by resting overnight at my campsite.
On the next day after waking up early, my day started by enjoying a breathtaking sunrise.
Then after having some mouth-smacking breakfasts I started to Trek towards the Brahmatal.
This part of my trek passed through the beautiful forests of Rhododendrons and Oaks.
Along the way, I passed through Telindi, before reaching the Brahmatal Lake.
Due to the winter season, the lake and its surroundings remained covered with fresh winter snows.
Then after reaching my campsite and having my dinner I retired for that night.
On the fourth day after having breakfast, I started my journey towards the Brahmatal summit. On the way, I passed through Chota Jhandidar and Bada Jhandidar.
It took me roughly 2 and a half hours to reach the summit. The views were mesmerizing and unforgettable.
From the summit, I started to trek towards Daldum, which happened to be my campsite for that day. This section of the trek was through the forests of Oaks and Rhododendrons.
On the fifth day, I started trekking downhill after having my breakfast. This part of the trek also passed through the Oaks and Rhododendrons forests. After reaching the base I rested that night in a guest house at Lohajung.
On this day upon reaching Kathgodam after a 9-hour long journey from Lohajung. Here I ended up with my whole tour.
