In addition, we’ll explain how much of a hassle these changes or Spirit airlines flight cancellations are as well as how much money you might have to pay to make them happen.
Check Your Spirit Airlines Reservations
The first thing you need to do is look at all of your current flights. To do that, go to your My Trips tab and click on a trip. Once you’re in there, scroll down until you see View Details.
Click on it and take a look at any reservations that you might have for any future trips—both paid and unpaid. You’ll want to make sure that each reservation has been adjusted accordingly so there are no surprises come Spirit check-in time.
For example, if you’ve changed travel dates because of an important work event or moved seats because it’s easier for family members traveling together, those changes will show up here.
If they don’t, then you should be able to easily adjust them through Manage Reservations by going into Edit Reservation mode.
Here, you can update everything from seat assignments to passenger names. As long as your flight isn’t full (and sometimes even if it is), Spirit Airline staff can help you out by changing anything about your reservation that needs changing.
If you know ahead of time that something will be different about your trip (like a friend joining or leaving early), just let Spirit know via Manage Reservations as soon as possible so they can accommodate any requests.

8 Tips to book a large group of more than 9 passengers with Spirit Airlines Flights
You are planning to take your family of 10 people on a trip to Orlando, Florida, and you want to book Spirit Airlines since it has the lowest prices available. You also want to make sure that you can get all 10 of your seats together when you travel together.
Can this even be done? What do you need to keep in mind? How can you book spirit flights? In this article, we will help you find the answers and tell you everything about booking large groups of passengers with spirit airlines.
1) Split up into Separate Groups
If you’re traveling as a party, you can break up into smaller groups and fly on different dates.
This will minimize your group’s fare per person; for example, nine people flying together in one reservation would end up paying $100 each if flying from New York City to Los Angeles, but splitting into three groups would reduce that price per person to $33.
If your schedule isn’t flexible or you need to travel on a specific date, another option is securing an interline Spirit airlines ticket (also known as multi-city or consolidator tickets).
You purchase these through an agency like Travelocity and then use them as if they were made directly through Spirit Airlines Flights.
2) Try Another Date
If you’re traveling for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s—and you want to bring your friends and family along for some holiday cheer—don’t assume that flying on those days will be cheaper.
Holidays often draw crowds that airlines charge extra for. They may not even fly into your desired airport.
If you must fly on one of these major holidays, try booking spirit airlines tickets a few weeks in advance so that if they turn out to be more expensive than expected, you can change your plans without being financially stuck.
Alternatively, consider flying spirit airlines on an alternate date. Some airlines offer discounts up to 30 days prior to or after major holidays as a way to fill seats left empty by people traveling on different dates.
3) Know the Rules
booking each seat individually (with its own seat number) can help ensure that you and your travel companions all have seats together on your flight. Just remember that it will also increase your overall ticket price, but not by as much as you might think.
Given Spirit’s flight high fee structure, booking each seat separately still works out to be less expensive for groups of 10 or more people.
And if you’re worried about showing up at Spirit check-in only to discover that a few people from your party were unable to fly, don’t be; travelers who purchase their own tickets are fully eligible for free same-day standby travel on any remaining seats in their cabin once online Spirit check-in opens 48 hours before departure.
4) Price Each Seat Separately
Like some other airlines, you can often save money by booking each seat individually. Check out how much it costs to split your group into two different cabins, and keep in mind that family members typically travel together, so find out if they’re willing to pay an extra fee. Many airports also have transfer desks at their Spirit Airlines baggage claim areas; use them!
They’re often able to get your whole party on one flight for cheaper than you’d get on your own. Just be sure not everyone arrives at check-in at once or else someone could end up missing their flight altogether.
5) Enter Multiple Passengers First, Then Connect Flights Second
If you arrive at your gate and your Spirit airlines plane is overbooked, find an airline employee. They’ll be able to help you figure out if there are any open seats on another flight.
Additionally, they can give you access to standby lists or let you know if another flight has seats available. It’s worth a shot! You might end up getting on that plane after all. If not, you should have some sort of backup plan in place.
6) Ask at the Airport if Overbooked
If your whole party arrives at once, you may find out that you need to be split into different sections of the plane. Because airlines overbook, they will be able to get away with putting some of your friends on another flight that day, while others might have to take an earlier or later flight.
If you don’t want any surprises in your vacation plans, you should always arrive at least two hours before the scheduled departure.
Then ask an airline employee if it is possible for your group to all sit together; most times there will be room for at least one family or group who has arrived early.
You can also see if another party would like to change their flight schedule so that you could both travel on one trip and continue on from there together.
7) Purchase Insurance
Don’t be surprised if you have trouble booking on short notice. If possible, try to reserve your flights early in advance.
If you need flexible flight dates or are looking for a large party, consider flying at less-busy times such as midweek or mid-afternoon.
Choosing dates around holidays and school breaks is another good way to increase your chances of finding availability. It’s also important that everyone in your party books their tickets together at once; otherwise, some members might be left behind while others get upgraded!
8) Book Early
If you’re traveling with an inordinate number of people, chances are your schedule is tight. Don’t wait until 11 pm or even 10 pm to book your Spirit airlines flights, as some airlines stop taking new reservations at that time.
In fact, it’s best to start looking for flights at least 72 hours before departure. Many airlines don’t begin charging fees until after midnight on your Spirit check-in day (the actual number is usually listed under restrictions).
So, if you need Spirit’s $25 fee waived and want seats together, you can save quite a bit by booking as soon as possible.
